World renowned eyewear brand Oliver Peoples has partnered with Public School, a duo of highly regarded, CFDA Award Winning designers, on a limited edition sunglass collaboration.
The Oliver Peoples x Public School collaboration features a sunglass model which, according to the designers, “naturally complements the aesthetic of Public School”, while taking inspiration from classic Oliver Peoples’ designs as well. The frame is a bold acetate style with a slightly sporty aesthetic while maintaining a fashion edge.
A long, linear metal detail runs from the temples and through the bridge, creating an illusion of one connected piece. The sunglasses come in 3 colourways which coincide with Public School’s predominantly black palette. These include two black versions – matte black with midnight express lenses and shiny black with obsidian mirror lenses, both polarized – as well as a neutral grey frame with opal flash electric lenses.
This collaboration is currently available via direct phone and email orders only. For additional information on ordering your pair, please Contact Us today!
Spectacle is excited to announce a limited edition collaboration between famed tattoo artist Dr. Woo and French eyewear designer Thierry Lasry launching this week. The collaboration is a first for Dr. Woo, who is known for his single-needle tattoo technique.
The duo is releasing a limited number of shades available in 4 colour patterns. The sunglasses feature a unisex shape and detailing along the brow bar and temples reminiscent of Dr. Woo’s tattooing method. Each collaboration piece also includes a custom Dr. Woo-designed bandana and eyewear cloth case.

Few brands take the time to detail their intricate designs quite like Anne et Valentin. Marie France, the brand’s rep, recently stopped by Spectacle to uncover some of the hidden meaning and symbols behind their collections.
The Bartok model is a round frame, with detailing on the hinge representing a treble clef. This style, from Anne et Valentin’s collection centered on mathematical and musical symbols, illustrates how unique eyewear design can be found in unexpected places.
The Pick model’s hinge also has a unique inspiration behind it – a vintage paperclip! This style references a vintage clip and creates the illusion of holding the frame together, offering stand-out detailing along the hinge. It is just a subtle touch that makes a big impact on the wearer, and is perfect for lovers of all things vintage.
The Modern Cat showcases the creativity behind Anne et Valentin once more. The entire temple outlines the planets in our solar system, which are embedded into the frame. The Modern Collection is also inspired by the influential Bauhaus art movement, which is shown in the frame front’s tip. Anne et Valentin maintains its creative integrity by utilizing the artistic minds of only 5 artists for each of their designs. Rather than outsourcing, each piece is designed in-house and of course hand made as well. Anne et Valentin is available at each of Spectacle’s 3 locations, so check it out and get inspired!
Next weekend, over July 11th and 12th, Spectacle will be holding a special Trunk Show featuring Thierry Lasry‘s sunglass and optical lines at our West Queen West location.
